Frequently Asked Questions - LSBP

1. How does my student ride the bus?
Students can ride in TWO ways: with an ANNUAL BUS PASS or a ONE TRIP PASS.  The ANNUAL PASS is a permanent, laminated pass which lists your students name, route number and bus stop.  It is valid for the whole school year. The One Trip Pass is good for one ride only.  The One Trip Pass is paper (not laminated) and you must fill in your student's emergency information, sign it and date it each time.  The One Trip Pass works well for occasional rides.
2. How do I sign up for the ANNUAL BUS PASS?
To sign up for the ANNUAL BUS PASS you must pre-pay for the whole school year.  The easiest way to sign up is on line.  You can pay by credit card or check on line.

4. What about after school activities?
Stanley Middle School is the only school with a late bus at 4:45 p.m.  However, there is a separate fee for this service.  You can pay for the STANLEY LATE BUS ANNUAL PASS for $55 per year, or purchase a one trip pass for each ride.

5. Can kindergarten students ride the bus?
Yes!  Many kindergarteners are excited and ready to ride the bus.  Kindergarten and 1st grade students must be met at the bus stop in the afternoon by a parent or guardian.  (The driver will not drop them off if you are not there.)
7. Can I get a refund for the ANNUAL BUS PASS? How about the One Trip Pass?
ANNUAL BUS PASSES are refundable.  The refund is pro-rated.  If you notify us before the start of school, there is no extra charge.  If you notify us after the start of school, there is a $25.00 processing fee.  Exception:  If your student becomes a latebird/earlybird and you can no longer use the bus, let us know and we will waive the processing fee.  ONE TRIP PASSES are non-refundable.  However, you can turn them in towards the purchase of an ANNUAL BUS PASS.

3. How do I purchase a one trip pass?
One Trip passes are sold at school offices.  The price for 09-10 is $3.00 for each pass.  You can order larger quantities by calling the school bus office.  One Trip Passes will be available for purchase on line in September 2009.  There is a separate handling charge for ordering one trip passes on line.

6. How do I request a new bus stop?
Please e-mail us or call us to discuss your bus stop request.  When you sign up on line, put your stop request in the comment box at the end of the form.  We try to grant most stop requests.  However, due to time restraints in the schedule, we may not be able to grant all of them.  In Moraga and Orinda, each bus has five or six runs a day and additional stops may cause the bus to be late to the next school.
